Lady Ranger Round Up Week of Jan. 15-19

Week 2 of the 2024 Season in Review

Tuesday saw the Lady Rangers drop a couple of games at State Ranked Leander. Both games were super competitive and the Lady Rangers showed a lot of grit.

These types of games will definitely pay dividends during District.

JV then traveled to Hutto for the Hungry Hippo Classic.

In game 1 JV fell to a solid Buda Johnson team 0-1. Friday's first game was cancelled due to High Winds and wind chill. In their next game JV beat Stony Point 2-1 to end the tournament on a good note.

Varsity traveled to Waco (With a Traditional stop at Buccees) where they competed in the Midway Classic. The Lady Rangers finished the Tournament with wins over Cy-Fair 2-1, Granbury 3-0, and a draw versus Midway 1-1.

A big Congratulations to Kendel Alford, Lily Vandiver, and Alexis Morrison for being named to the Best XI All Tournament Team.

And Lastly

As we enter PART III of our Season, I think it's always a good time to look at what we've done and see where we are going.

Part 1 Pre-Season and Scrimmages

We had scrimmages versus Cedar Park, Glenn, Rouse, Belton, Lake Travis, and Eastview. A Daunting task that helped prepare us for the Season. Want to know just how daunting our Pre-Season schedule was? Take a look at the Current Regional and State Rankings and every team with the exception of Eastview is currently listed.

Part 2 of our Season saw the official start of games and Tournaments. The Lady Rangers have performed well playing 8 games in Two weeks, going 5-1-2 and facing some tough State Ranked Teams in Alamo Heights, Gregory Portland, Leander, and Waco Midway. All 8 Teams that the Lady Rangers have faced this season were Playoff qualifiers last season.

Part 3 of our 2024 Season is the Start of District Play. We open with a huge game this Friday versus Cedar Ridge. Being a part of one of the toughest districts in Central Texas is no easy task. Each game presents a new set of challenges in a highly competitive atmosphere.

I want to encourage everyone (Parents & Players) alike not to get too high or too low after any result. One thing that is clear this year is that each game will be highly contested. Unlike year's past where there were clear favorites heading into every game, this year the parity in our district will lead to some surprising results and will make for an interesting year.

One thing for sure is that our Lady Rangers are ready and raring to go .

I'm proud of all the girls and for the time, dedication, and hard work they have put forth for Lady Ranger Soccer.

We Control the Controllable. We focus on ourselves. We support our teammates. We play with great pride and passion. Let's do something remarkable and something that hasn't been done in 6A since the 2017 Season.

Let's take each game, one game at a time and let's go make the playoffs.

Let's Go Lady Rangers!
