Lady Ranger Round Up Week of Feb. 27-Mar. 3

Week in Review

This past week was a good Week for the Lady Rangers. Tuesday Night saw the Lady Rangers travel to McNeil HS for the #BattleoftheBalcones. JV split the points tying 1-1 while Varsity was able to put 3 points in the pocket & Win the Season Series for the first time in 4 years.

Grades also came out this week and the Lady Rangers crushed it in the classroom. 25 Lady Rangers with Straight A's and another 12 Lady Rangers on the AB Honor Roll. All told we had a 94% passing rate for the 4th 6 Weeks. An Outstanding Academic accomplishment considering we lost a week of school to an ice storm.

Senior Captain Cassidy Janda received the LISD Student Athlete of the Week Award for LISD. Such a great Honor for such a deserving Lady Ranger.

Friday saw the Lady Rangers travel over to Westwood where we saw some of the best most competitive soccer played this season. The JV Lady Rangers fell 1-0 on a late second half goal. The Varsity match saw two teams get after it and compete for 80 minutes. Game ended in a 1-1 tie but there was nothing left to give as the Lady Rangers left it all on the field.

Just a fantastic week of soccer by the Lady Rangers.

Senior Night Itinerary

Senior Night is one of the best & most important night's in our program. This is our opportunity to honor those Seniors that are finishing their time playing as a Lady Ranger and say Thank you for all that they have done for the program while representing Vista Ridge High School.

The Expectation is that ALL Lady Rangers attend and stay for the Varsity game and Senior reception immediately following. It is also expected that All Lady Rangers help contribute to Senior Night. Lady Rangers please get with your groups and help participate with the Senior Gifts. We don't have to contribute a lot, but if we all contribute a little then our Senior Night Celebration will be a Huge Success.

Final Thoughts from Coach -

The Story:

During the gold rush, a man who had been mining in Colorado for several months quit his job, as he hadn’t struck gold yet and the work was becoming tiresome. He sold his equipment to another man who resumed mining where it had been left off.

The new miner was advised by his engineer that there was gold only three feet away from where the first miner stopped digging.

The engineer was right, which means the first miner was a mere three feet away from striking gold before he quit.

The Moral:

When things start to get hard, try to persevere through the adversity.

Many people give up on following their dreams because the work becomes too difficult, tedious, or tiresome–but often, you’re closer to the finish line than you may think, and if you push just a little harder, you will succeed.

When you are at the end of a long season; sometimes it is difficult to find the motivation necessary to play with focus, vigor, and intensity. Sometimes practices and film sessions seem long and boring.

But what if you were four games from Gold? Four Games from doing something that hasn't happened since 2017? What if you knew you were 4 games away from making the playoffs?

If we win our Final 4 Games we are in the playoffs. We control our own Destiny. It doesn't mean it won't be hard but we can do it. Bring the focus to your preparation. Bring your desires and motivations to the games. And Give everything you have to gain those final 3 feet. Let's Go for the Gold Lady Rangers! It starts tomorrow.
