The Week in Review -
So this past week saw so much happening with Lady Ranger Soccer, and a lot of it wasn't even on the field.
Tuesday saw us host Middle School Night at Ranger Stadium where we were able to host about 12 Future Lady Rangers who were able to make it out for the McNeil Games.
JV was able to come away with a solid 2-0 Victory over a District Rival.
In the Varsity game, we were treated to a roller coaster of a ride that had all kinds of twists and turns, and loopty loops, and even an amazing ending.
The Lady Rangers held a dominating amount of possession in the first half, holding the ball for 75% of the half, and completing a total of 132 passes. But with the score tied at 0 at half the ride was just about to begin. The Lady Rangers scored two goals in the span of 4 minutes with strikes by Lily Vandiver and Bailey Huner. Then McNel capitalized twice a mere 8 minutes later to knot the score back up at 2. It was an emotional and hotly contested match until the last minute of the game where Lily was able to put one past the McNeil Keeper and the Lady Rangers were able to collect all 3 points. Whew what a game.
Then Wednesday saw some of our Lady Ranger Leaders meet and greet future Rangers at the High School preview day. We could not be prouder or better represented by some Amazing Lady Rangers.
Friday night saw us host State Ranked local rival Westwood at Ranger Stadium.
JV fell 5-0 after being tied at halftime, and played hard with a lot of great chances.
In the Varsity match it was big time bout between two teams with big time aspirations and expectations. Westwood was able to capitalize on a loose ball in the box in the first half and led 1-0 at the break. The second half saw a fire lit under the Lady Rangers as they came out and played with ferocity and determination. The Lady Rangers tied the game up on a corner kick with 22 minutes to play in the 2nd half, and from there it truly was a battle and fight to the finish, with both teams scrambling and chasing those elusive 3 points. In the end, both teams split the points. Fierce competitors on the field, friends off, and Respect all around.
